Apple Crumble

Ingredients

Filling

  • 2 lbs Apples Gala, or any good baking apple
  • 1 tbsp Flour
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon
  • 1 tsp Ginger
  • 1 tsp Nutmeg
  • 1 tsp All Spice
  • 2 tbsp Lemon Juice

Topping

  • 1 cup Oats
  • 1 cup Flour
  • 1/2 cup Brown Sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Powder
  • 1 tsp Cinnamon Powder
  • 1/2 cup Butter or Margarine melted
  • 1/4 tsp salt

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 350 F
  • Slice apples thinly, then combine with other filling ingredients in bowl. Spread evenly across 8 or 9 inch casserole or baking dish, or similar.
  • Mix dry ingredients in bowl thoroughly, then add melted butter/margarine. Mix until combined fully.
  • Bake for 30 to 40 minutes, until golden brown. Let cool 10 minutes and serve.

Notes

  • This can also be baked in a pie crust, though you may want to reduce the amount of apples used.
